REINFORCING MESH 6000 x 2400mm

This general purpose mesh is used for reinforcing flat concrete elements such as floor slabs and walls.

Square mesh is manufactured from L grade ribbed wires (D500L) that are welded together with equal spacing in both directions to form square apertures.

The non-structural flying ends of our sheets are removed for safety resulting in a 5.8 x 2.4 m effective area*.

*Effective length is 5.8 m and 5.9 m between the outer most cross wires. Total length may vary and can be up to 6 m with non-structural fly ends.

If you’re wondering how many bar chairs you need per m2 for a sheet of mesh, generally, a minimum of 22 bar chairs per sheet of 6m x 2.4m mesh is required. Otherwise, you can divide the slab area by 0.56. Quick tip; Bar chairs are commonly sold in bags of 100, therefore, ensure you round up to the nearest hundred.

Here is the formula:
Slab Area (m2) ÷ 0.56 = Total number of chairs
Example: 250m2 ÷ 0.56 = 466.4 (Round up to 500)
